Well, how life has taken a turn recently!
Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be sewing again, let alone sewing Christmas Face Masks.
Never in my wildest dreams did I foresee some opportunities that have come from daring to release my small book about Dad, Dementia and Me. I will be able to share more, after Monday.
We are currently day 87, in this long drawn out lockdown, level three affair. People are over it, and Christmas is looming. We want to do the right thing, but we want to be free too. You can get botox apparently, but you can’t go to the hairdressers. Sex workers are classed as ‘Essential Workers’ and yet churches remain shut down. People are lonely, some are dying alone. Suicides far outnumber any covid deaths we’ve had, and people are desperate.
When New Zealand’s biggest shopping mall was due to reopen, hundreds of people lined up for over 24 hours, to get in there first. That, is embarrassing! People don’t seem to know how to make plunger coffee (french press in the USA) and seem to be lining up for take away coffee wherever they can. Rather than spend time acquiring good quality heirloom seeds, that aren’t GMO or hybrid, and establishing long term food solutions for families, they are lining up for McDonald’s takeaways. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a sucker for Middle Eastern take out, but seriously!
Anyway, here’s some photos of what Juju and I have been creating – it’s been fun and exhausting 🙂
