I stopped. Just silent and still. I looked, only moving my eyes. It was perfect, just stunningly perfect. Nothing unusual or outstanding, a scene that has graced our eyes many a time, but today there was just something extraordinary about it.
The moment. It seemed that Abba Father was showing off and telling us again, as He painted the sky in magical golden hues, that He indeed paints the sky, for His glory, and our enjoyment.
It had been one of those days – perfection at every turn. From visiting the Kai Iwi Lakes, to admiring the giant Kauri tree that is Tane Mahuta, it was so endearingly wonderful. Coming up the hill and stopping to capture the glorious Hokianga Harbour, glinting with sunlight playing and dancing upon the sunny bay. Oh what wonderous sights to behold!
And then dining outside, the warmth of the sun on our faces as we ate such glorious treats, and drank intoxicatingly beautiful wine.
Then it all happened.
The sunset, long and arduous, as that warm autumn globe slowly sank into the horizon.
We were awestruck once again.
The glory of God, the glory of creation.
A perfect moment in time.
